In cooperation with Euro RSCG Amsterdam CARU Supplied car manufacturer Citroën with a 20ft insulated container in the city center of Amersfoort. The container was used as a starting point of the Citroën Twitter race. During this race participants could steer the brand new ds4 by sending Twitter messages.
For this occasion the container was fully branded in the style of Citroën and equipped with a tailor-made ramp.

After the big success of last year CARU also participated in this years intermodal.

This summer the former Submarine Wharf in Rotterdam’s harbour is transformed for the second time into an exhibition space as part of an ongoing partnership between Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and the Port of Rotterdam. Within the exhibition our white 20ft container takes in a prominent place .

As previously  was CARU delivered two 20ft shipping containers for the Alp d'HuZes. More than 4,300 participants raised a record amount of 20,106,345.75 euros for the KWF! 100% of the raised amount goes to cancer research.

Recently we supplied our client Bezemer Dordrecht with a 20’dv ISO/DNV 2.7-1 EN12079 offshore container with custom made workshop This container is stationed on the Troll A platform. This famous Statoil platform is located on sea on the West Coast of Norway.

Norwegian offshore regulations within the offshore are the most heavy to comply with.Bezemer stated that our box was accepted without any problem!

The Troll A platform is a condeep offshore natural gas platform in the Troll gas field. . It is the tallest construction that has ever been moved to another position, relative to the surface of the Earth, and is among the largest and most complex engineering projects in history.
 

The two 20ft 'dv white containers have been transformed in style and will be used as a beverage distribution point along the cycling route.
Alpe d'HuZes is the largest annual Dutch fundraiser. Cyclists raise money by climbing the Alp d’Huez at least 6 times in one day. The collected funds contribute to fighting against the effects of cancer. In 2010, an amount of 12 million Euro was raised by 2,752 cyclists. It is expected that this amount will be exceeded in 2011.

Stichting Ladder funds educational projects in Tamil Nadu, South India. By improving
training opportunities they offer young people (and their families) a future.

The latest project is a technical school (SKILL Centre). Here the students follow a market-based training course. After finishing this course the trainees receive a diploma certified by the government. In this way they have good job opportunities.

The money raised will be doubled by NCDO. So stichting ladder will be able to help even more young people in building a better future

From March 23 till March 27 the world championships track cycling were held in the Omnisport sports Centre in Apeldoorn. It was for the first time in history that the world championships were held in the Netherlands. Over 17,000 spectators attended this event and witnessed the many sportive highlights.

CARU Containers in cooperation with Libéma Profcycling placed an entire container village at this unique event. The village consisting out of 40 units was placed behind the Omnisport building and was used by all country teams to prepare the bikes before the race.

Besides the container village CARU also delivered a event container, a combi container and  two 20ft standard containers.

One of the most striking projects this year must be the O’neill truck with matching Container. This eye catcher is delivered to our client NATWERK!

The Container and truck will be used as a mobile test lab for the European campaign “tested on animals”. In the container you will find a moving floor a wind generator, many lcd-screens and an impressive speaker system.

For Nectar Group, CARU Containers has built three 'Hopper Containers'. These containers are used as unloading systems in harbours. This way Nectar can offer its clients flexible unloading capacity in harbours that don't have these systems themselves.

Of course the possibilities for special containers are endless but our solutions are always focussed on the mobility of technology, accomodation, transport and storage.

Last week CARU started the construction of 4 sound walls in the center of Rotterdam.

At the Binnerotte (near the Blaak station), a marketplace is built, for market stalls, shops, restaurants and 228 residences. For this project we built three sound walls in collaboration with International LashingService. The walls have to protect a nearby school and homes from nuisance coming from the construction site for 8 months. In total this construction site will be covered with three walls of, in total, 77 containers.

The construction of the first wall for this project started today.

An other project regarding a sound wall, is at the Wilhelminakade. This wall has to protect the employees of KPN from any nuisance comming from the construction site of the new building 'De Rotterdam'. This building will have a height of 149 meters and inside a 4-star hotel, 225 apartments, offices, a health club, cafe's and restaurants will be located. This wall will be visible from the Erasmusbrug for 4 months.

The construction of this wall, consisting of 20 containers, is finished.

CARU has expanded it's fleet with new 20ft offshore containers.

These containers are designed for CARU and answer to DNV 2.7-1 EN12079 rules. Internal and external measurements are similar to a 20ft standard container and the offshore eyes are within ISO. Because of that, these containers can be used as offshore containers as well as dry vans.

thanks to the use of high quality steel, construction and welding techniques the payload is 12.000 kg under DNV rules.

CARU expanded it's container fleet with new event containers.

These event containers are made of a 20ft high cube container and feature a single door, a tip-up side hatch with airsprings, illumination and elcetricity.

So far we have added two event containers to our fleet and we expect to add more in the future.
