One Container Sold = One Mangrove Tree Planted
At CARU Containers, we believe that business should create lasting value for people, the planet, and society. That’s why we’ve launched One Container = One Tree, a climate project in partnership with Regreener, focused on our operations in Brazil.
For every container sold in Brazil, we sponsor the planting of a mangrove tree in Primera Cruz, Maranhão. It’s a simple, measurable way to give back to nature and support local communities, one container at a time.
Why Mangrove Trees?
Mangrove forests are essential to Brazil’s coastline. They protect against erosion, support biodiversity, and store carbon. Yet they’re under pressure from deforestation and development. By restoring mangroves, we support:
Climate Action: Each mangrove tree can sequester approximately 0.31 tonnes of CO₂ over 20 years.
Biodiversity: Mangroves provide essential habitats for fish, crustaceans, birds, and more.
Community Support: Healthy mangroves sustain local fishing livelihoods and protect coastal regions from erosion and storms.
Social Inclusion: The project aims for 50% female employment, creating new opportunities for women in the region.
This is climate action with local impact. Practical, inclusive, and rooted in real needs.
